Block by Block is responsible for the daily management and staffing of a nine person Safety Ambassador staff and a thirteen person Clean Team. Ambassadors are responsible for patrolling downtown Pittsburgh on foot or bicycle to serve as a visible deterrent to unwanted activity, work closely with the Pittsburgh Police and most importantly enhance the experience of those who live, work or visit in downtown. Cleaning Ambassadors are responsible for keeping downtown free of litter, weeds, and graffiti as well as carrying out tasks that improve the long term appearance in downtown.
